great friends and the big 18.

Yep, you read it right. As of yesterday, I am now officially a legal adult! What did I do in celebration you ask?
Not much.

Really, 18 isn't all it's cracked up to be. Because I still live with my parents, I still have a curfew, school, and I have to make my bed. :P ( Well, not ALL the time...) Not that I thought there would be some magical change or anything, but I wanted to feel some sort of accomplishment, instead I woke up and lived a rather normal day for me. No clubbing, smoking, or buying lottery tickets for me.

As horrible as I'm making this sound, my birthday wasn't a complete failure. Turns out I have some of the greatest friends ever. I was surprised TWICE by my friends! Once was a surprise party dinner, and the other was at rehearsal for Bye Bye Birdie! They even made me cake!

It's really funny to think that just a few hours earlier I was thinking how lame my birthday was going to be. I had always wanted a surprise party, but didn't think my friends/family would care enough to do it. Turns out they did, and walking in the door and hearing "SURPRISE!!!" was probably one of the best moments of my life. I have never felt so much love at a single moment!! To see that all my friends had cared enough to plan, organize, and follow through with such a difficult task amazes me, and I am SO blessed and thankful to have such awesome friends!

There is a verse in the Bible that fits perfectly here, so I guess I'll share it.

"Every time I think of you, I give thanks to God."
-Phil 1:3
